The Beginning and End of a Day

On Election day, yesterday, I took these two photographs of its dawning and its closure, with my phone. It was a good day. Both opening and closure was magnificent and fitting for this special day in our nation’s life.

About Don

I love life. Sometimes it makes sense, other times not. Discerning its underlying patterns and beauty always provides great reward and meaning and is a passion I ineptly follow. I feel deeply attached to nature and love the sea with its distinct moods and colour and find walking along its beaches wonderfully inspiring. Writing, sketching and photography is a sheer joy for me and the blog is one of the places I am able to express these pursuits.

    Beautiful shots, Don.

  2. Let’s hope that the future is as rosy as that wonderful sunset!

I hope so Linda. Good signs throughout the day. We’re still infants when it comes to democracy. Got a long long way to go. We tend to romanticize our democracy.

  3. Beautiful shots Don – I love sunrise and sunset!

I wonder how many people looked up in the morning and evening and noted those stunning scenes?

Now that is a good day Don!

  6. Surely the middle of the day that began and ended with such stunning beauty was a spectacular mid-day!

  7. My two favourite times of day, Don. Mornings full of hopeful anticipation and evenings are for contemplation and rest and what better way than to experience both than observing sunrise and sunset. Beautiful photos.

Such beautiful colours Don, the pictures reminded me of the way Uluru changes colour in the light of the sun from yellow at dawn to purple/brown at dusk.
