A second womb

Given birth to flight

Now barren and abandoned

About Don

I love life. Sometimes it makes sense, other times not. Discerning its underlying patterns and beauty always provides great reward and meaning and is a passion I ineptly follow. I feel deeply attached to nature and love the sea with its distinct moods and colour and find walking along its beaches wonderfully inspiring. Writing, sketching and photography is a sheer joy for me and the blog is one of the places I am able to express these pursuits.

I love the symbolism, Don, on so many different levels, well done! Each tiny piece of straw and dried grass, discarded on its own, comes together to form something that breathes life back into the universe. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome Haiku Don! Love it – have a great weekend.

  8. Don, if I had to choose from all your wonderful posts, this would have to be in the top three favorites! Lovely. Perfect words for an exquisite picture.

  9. What a beautiful piece of work – is it a Martins’ nest do you think? How very clever birds are. I have always been fascinated by the nest of the Weaver bird and would love to see one of those.
    Your poem is perfect. 🙂

  10. Thanks for this beautiful Haiku.
