That Moment

That moment:

When you realize that your closeness to another human being is mysteriously nurtured by the infinite distance between you both.

About Don

I love life. Sometimes it makes sense, other times not. Discerning its underlying patterns and beauty always provides great reward and meaning and is a passion I ineptly follow. I feel deeply attached to nature and love the sea with its distinct moods and colour and find walking along its beaches wonderfully inspiring. Writing, sketching and photography is a sheer joy for me and the blog is one of the places I am able to express these pursuits.

  1. Yes, Don. And also, that your distance from another human being is sometimes also determined in opposition to the closeness between the two of you.

I don’t usually say, “I can understand that,” Linda, but having had our family far from us as well, I think I can grasp something of how you feel. Somehow, I think also, that distance, in spite of the pain, does bring us closer. That’s been my experience. Thinking of you.

You have an uncanny knack of inviting an hour’s philosophical pondering from a single sentence, Don. I’m away to ponder over some strong coffee. 🙂

  4. There is an infinite space between us all. When I know this within myself, I feel this connection with others. Beautiful Don.

That’s the moment when you can try to know you and see the differences between “you for now” and “you for the past”…
